Eddie Townsend was 12 when the photo was taken. His father was born in Ireland and his mother in Germany. Eddie and his family (including sisters Maggie and Emma) lived in the Riverdale part of Chicago in 1900 and 1910. His father worked for a malt house in 1910.

Eddie registered for the WWI draft in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1917, and I do not find him in the records after that.
