He was a snowshoe man and soldier in King Phillips War. Summoned for destroying pews in meeting house. Name sometimes spelled Ardway. Was fence viewer and tythingman. Bought rights to Mary's parents' land and moved to Haverhill in 1699. In 1703/4, daughter Joanna was captured by Indians.
