EDWARD DEXTER NEWTON' (Walter', Walt«r^ Alpheus', Abner*, Thomas', John-, Richard'), son of Walter, Jr., and Tirzah (DeWolf) Newton of Shelbume, Mass., and Onarga, ILL., was born at Shelburne, March 11, 1842. He married at Onarga, ILL., December 24, 1863, Fanny Zella Earle, daughter of Dr. Silas and Mary Ann (Hall) Earle of Milton, Vt., and in 1864 Clifton, ILL. She was born in Westford, Chittenden County, Vt., March 30, 1847.

Mr. Newton removed with his parrents, in 1858 from Shelbarne Mass to Onarge, Iroquois Co, ILL, whee the family settled, and where he continued to reside. He is a farmer. On Oct 24, 1913, Mr and Mrs Newton announced the fifth anniversary of their marriage in a pritty souvineer card. "Two golden hearts are blended there."
