Vol II, p 2 - [Descendants of Thomas Jenkins] ... Edward Jenkins, born 1670 in Popes Creek, Charles County, Maryland. He
married (1) 1698, in St. Marys County, Maryland, to Ann Gardiner; [see note below] and married (2) 1719 in Ocean Hall, Bushwood, Maryland to Mary Cole, daughter of Edward Cole and of Elizabeth Slye.
Ann Gardiner was daughter of Clement Gardiner and Eleanor Middleton. By this first marriage he had ten children. By his second marriage to Mary Cole, he had three more children. ... ----- [Note of Caution: The reference to the marriage to Ann Gardiner appears to be in error. In both Father Jenkins' book and Gardiner's previous volume (Vol I, p 34), Ann, daughter of Clement Gardiner and Eleanor Middleton, was born in 1720 and in 1740 was married to Richard Basil Boarman.]

"Born 1681. (In a deposition in 1744 he said he was 63 years old.) From his father he inherited part of a tract of land called "Pye's Hard Shift", which he left to his son Edward who, in 1789, transferred it to his father-in- law, James Middleton. Edward Jenkins of Thomas married before 1717 , Mary Cole, daughter of Edward Cole of St. Mary's County, and sister of Susannah Cole who married his brother George. Edward died in 1760, and was survived by his widow Mary and three children. His will of Sep 7, 1760, was probated in Charles County, Nov 19, 1760. It appears to have been made in a hurry and may not list all his children. Children: Thomas, Edward, Mary Ann, so-called in the will of Edward, untraced."
