Facts and Events
Was at Warwick by 1648, and in 1651 was recorded as a townsmen of Providence when he was granted the land where his house was. He served on juries and was deputy multiple times from 1666 to 1678. He may have run a tavern, as he entered ankers of rum in the record several times. In 1669, he received a deed of 500 acres on the Pawtucket River from William Manannion. In 1682, he and several others had settled north of Providence and received 3500 acres of that land. The grant was in settlement of "some differences" between the men and the town.
