    "Edward1 Foster, b Kingsware, Devon, ca 1644, d. Guilford, Conn., 14 June 1712, son of John Foster of Kingsware. … he apparently had [a] … wife after Elizabeth [Harris], as he is recorded in Middletown as father of Tamsen and John Foster b. 26 Aug 1688 and 10 Feb 1691/2. A mariner, Foster resided in Marblehead, Mass., in Middletown, and in Guilford."

    This article includes a third wife, Ann Hills. A correction published at NEHGR 164:297 amends that to indicate that this Ann Hills (Ann Spencer, widow of Thomas Hill(s) of Hartford) married a different Edward Foster.
