Edward Carroll
Edward Carroll was born March 1863 in Ireland, and died 1906 in Fairfield County, Connecticut. He may have been the Edward M. Carroll listed on the Naturalization Index on 28 October 1902 in Connecticut. [Needs additional research to prove]
Edward married Anna M. Hughes in 1892 according to the 1900 U.S. Census. Anna's surname of "Hughes" is found in the California Death Index record of their eldest child Edward James Carroll, who was born 8 October 1892 in Connecticut and died 4 April 1953 in San Mateo County, California.
Edward died prior to the 1910 U.S. Census as his daughters Rose and Elizabeth "Lillie" were listed as living in the household of John B. and Mary J. Williams in Wilton, Fairfield County, Connecticut as "wards" (i.e. - foster children). He was buried in St. Marys Cemetery, Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, which is located in the adjoining town to Wilton. Edward's youngest child Edward J. Carroll, b. abt. 1897 in Connecticut [according to 1900 U.S. Census records] is apparently not found in the 1910 Census, and it is supposed that he likely died prior to that date.

Edward Carroll was the paternal great-grandfather of former USC Head Coach and current Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll, b. 1951.

Note: prior to February 19, 2015 this Find-A-Grave submission claimed that Edward Carroll was the son of a Bernard Carroll (1835-1913), but after examining their records, it appears very unlikely that this could be possible. Bernard Carroll's 1900 Census record states that he immigrated to America in 1856 and married in 1866, but since this Edward Carroll was born in 1863 in Ireland (7 years prior to Bernard's immigration and 3 years prior to Bernard's marriage), it appears to be unfounded. This was corrected in February 2015 by the Find-A-Grave contributor, Edward is no longer listed as Bernard's son, although it is still listed on Ancestry search records
