In 1655 Edward Baker and Daniel Salmon were involved in a dispute with the undertakers of the ironworks at Lynn. The undertakers had acquired large tracts of land at Braintree, also for the production of iron, and in payment of debt some of this land was transferred to Baker and Salmon, including thirty acres which "the said undertakers bought and sometimes was the land of Barnaby Derreford" [SLR 2:266-70] (no other mention)
