OBITUARY 

                            Edward J. Askew, 83

Edward J. Askew, 83 of 272 West 5th St., Oswego died on 7/19/2004.

Mr. Askew died Monday, at his home.

Mr. Askew was born in Oswego, and was the son of the late Clinton and Ina(Nash) Askew, who died in 1995.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as the plant manager at Columbia Mills in Minetto.

Mr. Askew was a member of The West Baptist Church, and volunteered his time locally, in many ways.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Ann Askew.

Survived By: four children, D.J. Askew of Kansas, Paul(Helen) Askew of Rochester, Janice Burke of South Carolina, and Joyce Askew of Fulton; his son-in-law, John Burke of Oswego; three sisters, Virginia Linton of Delmar, Marie Smith of Boston, MA and Jane Davis of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Sean, Eric, Nicholas, Donald, Joshua, Jennifer, and Dustin; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Aaron; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second St., Oswego.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the West Baptist Church, on West 3rd St.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery
