    A wedding of interest to their many Sycamore friends, was that of Miss Edna Mawhinney and Mr. Everett Maitland, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mawhinney, 828 West 35th street, on Wednesday afternoon, February 27, at 5 o'clock.

    The beautiful ring ceremony was used and, and Rev. Claude S. Moore, formerly of this city, pronounced them man and wife, in the presence of their families and a few intimate friends. The bride was beautifully gowned in white and was attended by Miss Della Parry of DeKalb, as bridesmaid.

    The groom was attended by his cousin, Mr. Frank Stark, of this city, as best man.

    After an inviting wedding dinner, the young couple started on a short wedding tour, after which they will be at home on the farm belonging to the groom's father, northeast of town.

    The bride or groom need no introduction to our readers. The bride is well and favorably known In Sycamore being a graduate of the Sycamore high school, and held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Maitland [he] was born and grew to manhood here, and has a host of friends who extend to him and his wife the best wishes for their future.

    The recent marriage of Miss Adah Maitland, grand-daughter of Mrs. James Maitland former well known residents here, is told in the Kirksville Dairy Express and News of Kirksville, Mo. She was married to James T Ator, senior in the Kirksville State Teachers college and manual arts instructor in the Junior High school.

    Miss Maitland is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Everett P. Maitland, formerly of this community. Dr. Maitland was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Maitland and was born on the Mt Hunger road, east of this city. Mrs. Maitland was formerly Edna Manhinney (sic) who graduated from Sycamore schools 27 years ago. The account of the marriage from the Missouri paper follows:

    James T. Ator. senior in the Kirksville State Teachers college and manual arts instructor in the Junior High school, and Miss Adah Maitland, also a Teachers College senior and an employee in the registrar's office, were married yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents In LaPlata,

    The ceremony was performed in the presence of immediate relatives and friends of the couple. Howard Maitland and Miss Lucille Ator, brother and sister of the bride and bridegroom, respectively, were attendants and Miss Pearl Self was a guest,

    Mr. and Mrs. Ator then left for a wedding trip to Kansas City. They plan to return to Kirksville to establish their home in the Harrington apartments on the south side of the square in Kirksville.

    The bride is a. daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. P. Maitland and Mr. Ator is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Ator. Their marriage culminates a romance that began when both were attending La Plata High school. He was graduated in 1926 and she the following year.

    In high school the bridegroom played football and basketball and he continued his athletic career upon entering the Teachers college, playing end position on the football team for three years. Last year he was a choice for all-conference honors. He is a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma, Blue Key and Alpha Phi Omega fraternities and the "K" club. He completes the college work this quarter.

    Mrs. Ator. while a high school student, established a speed typing record at the Northeast Missouri sprig meet that still stands and won the state event event (sic) at Columbia. She is a member of Delta. Sigma Epsilon, Pi Omega Pi, Kappa Delta, Pi, Student Council, Women's Court, and Alpha Phi Gamma Organizations on the campus. As president of Kappa Delta Pi she is a national convention in Washington, D. C. soon.
