Mrs. Edna Minnie Crandall, 85, of 2822 Van Hise Ave., of Madison, died Monday, Dec. 7, at the Americana Nursing Home, Madison. She was the wife of George Crandall, former Milton College athletic director and coach.
Born Sept. 27, 1896, at Bay City, Mich., the daughter of Edwin and Cora Sheeter Hurlbert, she spent her earlier years in Marshall, Mich., graduated from high school in 1916 as class valedictorian and taught rural school for two years.
She married George Crandall Oct 18, 1919, at the home of her parents and the couple moved to Indianapolis, Ind. They moved to Milton in 1921 when George became the full-time athletic director and coach. In 1927 they moved to Lakeland, Fla., returning in 1931. From 1948 until present they resided in Madison.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Marjorie, Doris, George and Mary; seven grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, on Friday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church, Madison, Thursday, from 3 to 6 p.m. or at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, Friday, from 12:30 until the time of the service. Albrecht Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
