Edith B. McGehee, 87, a longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at Highline Convalescent Center. She was born on Jan. 29, 1910, to longtime pioneers Bradford and Rosa (Farris) Russell at Winthrop. She was raised and attended school in Entiat where she graduated from high school in 1928. In 1929, she married Virgil Jones. They made their home in Chelan until moving to Wenatchee in 1941. In 1956, she married Clifford McGehee at Wenatchee where they made their home. She was a former longtime member of the Tempest Rebekah Lodge No. 114 where she had served as Noble Grand of Rebekah. She had also been active with the Entiat Museum. Survivors include two sons, Don Jones, Wenatchee, and Russell Jones, Cashmere; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Gwen) Adams, East Wenatchee; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Jones, in 1960, and by her second husband, Clifford McGehee, in 1974, one son, David, one daughter, Dolores, and two brothers, Dave and Bradford "Babe" Russell.
