Edith M. Crumrine age 95 of Twin Falls, passed away May 24, 2012 at Woodstone Assisted Living Center.

Edith was born in Erie, KS, November 25, 1916 to Clyde & Winnie (Culbertson) Hodgden. Edith grew up in rural Southeast KS on the family farm.
At the age of 12 Edith was baptized at the Church of the Brethren in Galesburg, KS. She graduated from High School in Galesburg, KS in 1934. While visiting her older brother in Idaho, she met her future husband, Raymond A. Crumrine. They were married September 4, 1937 in Beaumont, ID. Edith & Ray had 4 children. The eldest child, Sharon Gail lived only one day. The three surviving children are Carol (Jim) Davis of Hemet, CA, Larry (Leila) Crumrine of Alamogordo, NM and Kathy Clark of Eden, ID.

During Ray & Edith's life together they farmed in the Hazelton area, operated a 24 hour Truck stop Café in Kingdom City, MO with relatives, and eventually settled back in the Hazelton area where they purchased the Hazelton Variety Store in 1953. They completely rebuilt the store in 1960. Edith ran the business and Ray worked mostly in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area as a carpenter. During the summer they had a trailer parked at Lake Creek and Edith would make the trip, usually with a grandchild or two, to spend a few days while her dear friend, Viola York, worked the store for her.

In 1979, they sold the Hazelton Variety Store and built their dream house in Hazelton. They also bought a 5th wheel and enjoyed many trips to Magic Reservoir for fishing trips with the family.
In 1998 Ray's health declined and they sold their home and moved to Cameo Estates in Twin Falls. They enjoyed 5 years there making many friends before Ray passed away in 2003 at the age of 89. Edith continued to live at Cameo Estates, enjoying her friends and her wonderful church family at Valley Christian Church.

In February, Edith moved to Woodstone Assisted Living Center with her cat where she found many special angels, always ready to help her. As her health worsened in the last few weeks all three children were by her side. Hospice Visions came at exactly the right time with their special spiritual and physical care.

Edith is survived by her 3 children, eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and very special nephew & nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, her infant daughter, her parents, brothers, sister and son-in-law.
The funeral will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home on Wedneday, May 30th at 11:00 am with internment following at the Hazelton Cemetery. Will Ritter will be officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29th.
