Sometime about 1742 this family moved from Harwich to Frederickstown in Phillipse Patent, Dutchess County, New York. Ebenezer King was a tenant on lot 8 of Phillipse Patent in 1754. He was assessed in the Southern District of Dutchess Co9unty fro June 1746 to 1770. Han or Herman King was listed there from February 1755 to 1771, then at Frederickstown, 1772-9. Listed together in the 1790 census of Frederickstown were Barzaillai King, Marrick King, Nathaniel King, John King, Heman King and Heman King, Jr. Heman King, who died 21 January 1812, was buried near the Ellis Cemetery in the town of Southeast, Putnam County, the site of the first Church of Christ on Phillipse Patent, but stones are not now found.
