In the 1880 census for Elk, Hancock Co., Iowa, Edward Gibbs is 22, farmer from Indiana (father New York, mother New Jersey); with wife Emma 22 born Indiana (parents Kentucky); and daughter Rosa, 4 mo. Iowa.{p. 10b}

 Emeranda's husband E.C. may have been Edward Curtis Gibbs, b. 1858 in Dearborn Indiana, son of Aaron Chew Gibbs and Eliza Oakman.  However, one IGI record shows that Edward with death date of 1884.
 Or he may have been the Edward Gibbs found in 1900 in Lawrence Co., South Dakota, age 42 from Indiana, with wife Mrs. Mary (Dunning) (married in 1895 in South Dakota) and stepchildren Catherine 16 and Eugene 6.
The latter Edward Gibbs and wife are found in 1920 in Otero Co., Colorado.
