A portrait was lent to Old Glasgow Exhibition, 1894, of Dugald Bannatyne (1755 Glasgow-1842 Glasgow), mercht, postmaster of Glasgow, son of Neil Bannatyne, Glasgow mercht, and Isobel, dau of George Bogle, Dean of Guild (1740-49); he marr Agnes, dau of William Stirling, and was father of Andrew and Dugald John, both writers. Agnes Stirling (14sep1763-18jul1848) marr Dugald Bannatyne (12feb1755-17mar1842, son of Neill Bannatyne, mercht, Glasgow postmaster, and Isabella Bogle) (F. Leeper).

Dugald Bannatyne, Glasgow mercht, and a dau of the founder of the firm William Stirling and sons, had sons Andrew and Dugald John (1805-1863); the obituary of the latter, a writer, praised the accomplishments and eminence of parents and son (Glasgow Herald, 1jan1864). Dugald Bannatyne (1755) was son of Neil Bannatyne and Isobel Bogle (d. feb1810), who was dau of George Bogle and Helen Luke (R. Kelly, rootsweb).
