Dorothy Easter

Dorothy L. Easter, 68, 1804 S. Union St., died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2001, at her residence. Born Aug. 1, 1932, in Nevada, Ind., she was the daughter of Carl and Ruth Richey. In March, 1949, in Kokomo, she married Harry A. Easter, who died in 1975.

She retired from Delco Electronics in 1993. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 292 where she was a facilitator for retirees and a past officer for retirees. She was a former member of the Moose; a member of the Eagles and Area 5 Retirees executive board. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed sewing and painting.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and David Musto and Don and Vicki Hinkle, all of Kokomo; Ruthie and Archie Rich, Elwood; a son, James "Jay" Easter, Kokomo; a sister, Betty Hendrix, Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Steve Richey, Peru; three granddaughters, Angela Pepka, Susan Alexander and Melody Easter; two grandsons, Michael Musto and Matthew Hinkle and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother and a grandson.

Services are 10 a.m. today at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. Pastor Dennis Riggs will officiate. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Garden. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
