Obituary The Daily Tribune, August 1, 1994 Don Tillotson Obituary June 13, 1910 to July 29, 1994 Donald Ray Tillotson, 84, of Nevada, died Friday of lung cancer at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. Funeral services were today at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada, with Pastor Thomas Poppe of the Nevada Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Donald Tillotson was born in Nevada to Ray and Mary (Bundy) Tillotson. He married Beulah Muse on April 16, 1938, at his home in Nevada. A lifelong resident of Nevada, he was employed by the Nevada Poultry Company and the Baldus Hatchery. He retired from Wilder Grain in Collins and Maxwell in 1976, and then worked for the City of Nevada Parks and Recreation Department until 1993. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. In 1987, he received the T. Ray Frame award for recognition of outstanding dedication and unselfish service to the parks and recreation profession, and in 1993, he received the City of Nevada Commitment to Excellence Award. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Nevada. He is survived by his wife of Nevada; two sons, Keith Tillotson of Nevada, and Kenneth Tillotson of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Almeda Warner and Amy Vinzant, both of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and an infant son. Memorial contributions for Nevada parks may be sent to his family in Nevada.
