Donald was a veteran of WW1, on September 23, 1914, just a month after the War was declared, he and his brother Colin arrived in Valcartier, Quebec to enlist in the CEF, They were part of the first continent to go overseas. He was 5'3" tall, with a fair complexion, blue eyes, and fair hair.
