    Don Robert Sowder of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on April 9, 1939, in Lawrence County, Indiana. He was the son of Layne and Lois (Hatfield) Sowder. He married Nancy K. Conolty on November 26, 1960, and she survives.

    Also surviving are are one son, Terry D. Sowder of Bedford, Indiana; one daughter, LaDonna S. Sowder of Bedford, Indiana; his mother and step-father, Lois and Paul Chase of Bedford, Indiana; one brother, Mike Sowder of Bedford, Indiana; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

    An Air Force veteran, he retired from Prototype at the Ford manufacturing plant. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post No 33 and the I.U.E. Local No. 907, and attended the Unity Baptist Church.

    Services for Don Sowder will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 24th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Danny Goens officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with graveside military rites accorded by members of the American Legion Post No. 33, Bedford.
