  2.   Dieuwke was Robert (Poppe) Hiemstra's sister, who married Johan Kooistra and immigrated to America in the 1880's. One child, a little girl, died during the voyage and was buried at sea. There were two other children: Clarence Kooistra and Gertie Kooistra Victoria.

    The Johan Kooistra family sponsored Poppe and Antje Hiemstra's coming to America. The Hiemstra's settled in the same town with the Kooistra's and other Dutch families.
