Peacefully, surrounded by his children, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Marshall Gowland Manor, Delmar Denton Dark passed away at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Irene Dark (2006). Loving father of Freda (Peter) VanRooyen, Elizabeth Dark, George Dark, and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Dark. Cherished grandpa of Kevin and Patrick VanRooyen, Jason and Ricky Peachey, and Jamie and Kaitlyn Daughtry. Great-grandpa to Adara, Caden, Bentley, Sadie and Willow. Predeceased by his parents George and Ellen Dark, by his son David Dark (2018), by his sister Evelyn, his brother Bob Dark and by his mother-in-law Freda McClelland. Delmar served in the Air Force for 20 years, and worked for Canada Post for 25 years. He had a passion for gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his family. A funeral service will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Heaven's Wildlife Rescue.
