    Mrs. Delilah Ann Dowers, 84, died early today in her home at 1452 E. Prairie Ave., where she had been seriously ill the past month and in failing health the past two years.

    A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Bushert, she was born in Kendall county, Ill. Feb. 2, 1859 and was married April 1, 1875 to George W. Dowers of La Place who died March 4, 1898. Mrs. Dowers moved to Decatur seven years ago from Hammond. She was a member of the Christian church.

    She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Sadie E. Mercer, Olive C. Dugan, both of Decatur, four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Scott, Milmine, Mrs.Cora Belle Dowers, Sullivan, Mrs. Laura Bolick, Decatur and Mrs. Nancy Cullen Los Angeles, a brother Oliver Bushert, Lake City, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

    The body is at the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home, where friends may call after noon tomorrow. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but burial will be in the La Place cemetery.
