Daniel ( Adam's son), mentioned in his diary that, "uncle David Braucht" was at Powell's Valley (Carlisle?), PA in 1844". He also mentioned Braucht cousins; David, Jodie, and George (but not certain if their father was this David).

Is this the same David PRACHT who married Mary Sprecher and had children Catherina (1812) and David (1815)? In the Bindnagle Records by Poorman this David was living at Lewistown,Mifflin Co., PA with three sons: David, John (Jodie?), and George]. Dan'l journal mention cousins David, John, and George living near Lewistown in Mifflin Co., PA -- so in 1979 I accepted this strong connection to justify placing these names as children of this David. I have no documentation beyond this analysis to do that, however. It is tempting to contemplate that this could be the "Jonas Braucht line" because of fitting names and dates, but this David's father (Daniel) does not match David (father Jonas, wife=Mary Ann Sprecher). Vol 1, Book T pg 413 dated April 25, 1814 which shows David Brought of Hanover Twsp purchased from John File (Phyle?) and his wife Elizabeth, 25 acres of land in Halifax Twsp. for $250. Could this be the father (b. 1782) of Moses Braught ?
The one thing that seems quite evident here is that the families of my Moses 1760 Braught, my Jonas Braucht families, and the New York Braught families are surely of the same ancestor not much earlier. Further research will document the actual common parentage, but I continue to believe that there is excellent cause to keep these files (and the Brought families of Mifflin County, PA.) adjacent. In the book presentation these several adjacent families are listed as appendicies until the verified connections can be documented.

In PA wills 1682-1834 Book I pg 441-42 (FTW CD# 209) there is record of a John Curyra (sp?) or No. Middleton, Cumberland Co., PA witnessed by David Braught Oct. 21, 1825 and a David Braught who witnessed the will of Valentine CORNMAN (see Moses file for added Cornman data) of that same twp. in Feb. 6, 1824.
