    ... Daniel Smith son of George the 2nd married Ann Maria Lind
    May 20th 1800. He was born on the Homestead 3 miles east
    of Emmitsburg Md. remaining with his Father until he
    married, when he set up house keeping and lived on a farm
    near his Father, now owned by Mr. [Freeizer]. He had
    wagons on the road between Baltimore and Pittsburg. He
    moved from this farm in the spring of 1817 to a farm near
    Waynesboro, Pa. where he followed this avocation until
    May 18th 1825 when he concluded to go west, loading his
    family in a wagon he drove from Waynesboro to Canton
    Ohio purchasing a farm five miles North East of Canton.
    This farm has been in possession of him and his heirs from
    that time to the present. He and his wife spent their days on
    this farm, she dying in 1852 aged 69.9.1, he in 1856 age
    81.7.7. They sleep the long sleep side by side five miles
    South East of New Berlin Ohio in Werstlers cemetery
    leaving a numerous family. Eleven children as follows ...
