pg. 167 : Daniel SHOFNER PINSON, named for his grandfather SHOFNER, was born on 9 February, 1834 in Carroll County, Tennessee. He served as Constable in Dist. 17, 1858-1860. In March 1860, he married SARAH PICKLER ( born in 1836, daughter of Elizabeth Pickler ). 1. Child: DAVIS PINSON born 5 January, 1861. Daniel served in the Confederate Army and died in service during the Civil War. Sarah left the child, Davis, with his grandparents, Isaac F. and Amelia Shofner Pinson. Sarah either died or was remarried as Davis remained with his grandparents. He appeared in their household in the 1870 census, age 9, and again in the 1880 census, age 19 ( 18 ). Davis, who never married, died on 30 June 1892 and is interred in Barren Springs Cemetery.
