Apparently while living in the Saratoga area of N.Y., Daniel visited Montreal, as there is a document showing that Daniel Garnsey on 5 Sep 1794 made a declaration under the Alien Act, saying "Came into this Province by the Indian Path behind la [Roolue?] on Wednesday the third of this Present Month of September."[2] The Alien Act was passed in 1794 by the House of Lower Canada, and required aliens to declare themselves.[3]

Daniel Green Garnsey is distinct, although both lived in Saratoga Co.; he was US Repr. 1825-29. Buried Erie Co. NY.
