Daniel Ferrenburg, 78, an esteemed Fremont resident, died Monday nig ht at 6 o'clock at his home, 1813 West Hayes avenue, following an extend ed illness which had its inception with a severe attack of the grip. He was first taken ill eight weeks ago but his condition improved and thr ee weeks ago he returned to his work in the carpenter department at the Ca rbon works. He worked for three days, suffered a relapse and his conditi on rapidly grew worse until death ensued. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the r esidence. Rev. H. W. Link, of the Trinity Evangelical church, will offici ate and interment will follow in Oakwood cemetery. Burial will be private . The deceased was born in Huntingdon CO, Pa., on June 9, 1838. At t he age of 24, in 1862, Mr. Ferrenburg came to OH and for our years resid ed on a farm west of Fremont. The next four years were spent in Toledo, w here he was united in marriage to Abby M. Hancock, on April 8, 1868. T wo years after their marriage the couple took up their residence in Fremo nt and here Mr. Ferrenburg spent his remaining years. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical church and took an active inter est in the church work. A carpenter by occupation, Mr. Ferrenburg engag ed in carpenter contracting for many years but for the past five years h ad been working for the National Carbon Co. "Daddy," as he was familiarly known by his fellow workmen, was a favori te with all, a kind and devoted husband and father. Besides the widow, Mr s. Abby Ferrenburg, he is survived by two sons, Harry L. and Bert H. Ferre nburg, Fremont; two brothers, Elliot and William Ferrenburg, of Shepher d, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Divelbiss and Miss Rebecca Ferrenbur g, of Shepherd, Mich.; one grandson, a number of other relatives and lar ge chicle of friends. |
