Daniel Coe was born 19 February 1730-31 in Newtown, Long Island to Lieut. Samuel Coe and Margaret VanZandt, the family moved to Orange County (now Rockland Co.) New York when Daniel was five years old. He married 1) Sarah Palmer on 26 July 1754 and 2) Rachel Sloat 7 November 1765. He died 20 October 1777 in Kakiat, Orange, New York.
