    D. BRUNSON DIES VERY SUDDENLY

Body Found About a Mile From His Home on Tuesday of This Week

The information was brought to Jordan Tuesday evening that D. Brunson had died very suddenly on Monday near his ranch at the mouth of Woody creek in the Van Norman neighborhood. From what information the Gazette can gather, it seems that Mr. Brunson went out to round up some of his live stock on Monday on horseback. None of the other members of the Brunson family were at home and on Tuesday a granddaughter of Mr. Brunson called at the ranch and discovered that her grandfather was not at home. She immediately informed some of the neighbors and a search for the missing man was instituted, with the result that his body was found on a dry sand-bar in the bed of the Big Dry creek, all appearances indicating that he had been stricken with heart trouble and had become exhausted and laid down and expired. When found he was a mile or a mile and a half from his home and had evidently died on Monday.

County Attorney John J. Cavan, County Coroner W. F. McCants, Sheriff Matt J. Roke and Dr. D. A. Baker went out to the Brunson ranch Wednesday morning and an examination of the remains revealed the fact Mr. Brunson had not been the victim of foul play and to all appearances his death was the result of natural causes. It was not considered necessary to hold in inquest.

Mr. Brunson was at home alone at the time of his death, Mrs. Brunson being ill in a hospital in Miles City and accompanied by one of their daughters, while a son was away working at the time. The deceased was among the old-timers of this section of the country, having been engaged in the live stock industry in the Van Norman locality for many years, and was about 60 years of age.

The Gazette cannot secure any detailed information for an obituary, but besides his grief-stricken wife he leaves some grown children to mourn his loss. Mr. Brunson was an excellent citizen, a congenial and accommodating neighbor and a kind and loving husband and father. The many friends of the bereaved members of the family extend to them the most sincere and heartfelt sympathy in their great affliction.

The remains were taken into Miles City for burial by the son, who was sent for and who arrived very shortly after having been advised of his father's death.
