Early Land Acquisition in Virginia

  • P-251: Daniel Bowman of Dunmore Co. has 143 acres on North River of Shannandoah in said County. granted 21 Apr. 1753 to Christian Bowman who devised same to same Daniel Bowman. Surv. by Richard Rigg shows 249 acres with 106 acres ungranted adjoining. Grant for whole to Bowman 1 Mar. 1774. [Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants, 1742-1775, Vol. 2, Gertrude E. Gray, pg. 224].
