She is age 9 on 1880 census, with parents in Valley Twp, Polk Co., Oh.(p 545, fam # 213/218) On the 1900 census we find Robert, age 29, farming in Grimes, Polk Co., Ia. Wife Daisie, 29, declares they have been married five years. She has born 4 children, with 4 alive . Also a cousin, Dolly (Wilson, we assume, as no other last name is given,) age 19, born Apr 1881.(ED 112, p 10, fam #201/208) There is much confusion about the death date of Daisy, frequently given as Jan. of 1900. We have just seen that she was alive on the 1900 census, dated 19 June 1900, and had not had twins Daisy and Marie as yet. The twins were born Dec 28 1900 and Daisy died a week later, 5 Jan 1901. The 1900 death date is carried through in the land abstracts for "Rittgers Acres," showing Robert and the minor children - with the twins named - as heirs of the estate of Reuben Rittgers. Daisy, Robert and Robert's second wife Elizabeth (Findley) Wilson, are buried in Ridgedale Cemetery, Sect. S, row 3. Daisy's stone reads "1871-1901." In the Ridgedale Cemetery records is a page labeled "Extracted from Polk Co. , Ia, death records" Here it gives Daisy's date of death as 3 Jan 1901, age 29yr, 11 mo, 22 days.
