Family History

Julius was returning from a trip to Illinois to visit family and fell into the Mississippi while trying to cross. He couldn't swim and contracted pneumonia from his spill. He died when Julia was only a few months pregnant. She named her son, Julius Dabney after both of his parents. Several years later, she married John Strong, who also had a young son, George and the boys were raised as brothers. George died during the War between the States. The first soldier from Fairfield Iowa to fall. Per: Lois Bragg Reinheimer, his great granddaughter.
