Cynthia Davis was the daughter of John Davis. She married Coleman 'Colby' Williams, son of Sarah Williams Hogg who married Stephen Hogg. A marriage bond was issued to Coleman and Cynthia on 9-23-1811 in Letcher Co. then Floyd Co. The bond date was found in the book, "Annals of Floyd Co. Ky. 1800-1836 by Charles C. Wells.
Cynthia had one brother, Evan Davis and sister Jenny Davis who did not marry. She also had a sister, Nancy Davis who married Thomas Calhoun. Their eight children were all born in Letcher Co.
Around 1835, the Back, Williams, Hogg and Davis families moved to Breathitt Co and settled in the Quicksand Creek area. In 1837 Coleman Williams Purchased 100 acres on Quicksand Creek. and another 80 acres for $200. He settled his family on this land about 10 miles from the mouth of Quicksand Creek
Cynthia was probably born around 1790 in Virginia and died between the 1840 and 1850 census.
Colby had a second marriage to Sarah Fugate, widow of Benjamin Fugate on 4-4-1852 in Breathitt Co.
