Courtland married Jane Vlerebome, daughter of Peter Vlerebome and Catherine Low, c 1816. Courtland married Elizabeth Witham Lundy, daughter of Amos Lundy and Abigail Stockton, on 9. Aug. 1842. Courtland Voorhees was a farmer in 1850. Courtland and Elizabeth appeared on the census of 1850 at Branchburg Twp., Somerset County, New Jersey.

Courtland's left a will on 18. Nov. 1857

It mentions a tombstone which is to be erected, sons Lucean John C., daughters Caharine wife of Isaac V. Kelly, Ellen Ann wife of John Cox, Rebecca wife of Peter Herder, Emeline, Jane wife of Wm. Van Fleet, Lo8isa Voorhees under age. The executors were his son in law John Cox. son Lucean.

He died on 28. Nov. 1857 at age 64. Courtland's estate was proved on 9. Dec. 1857 at Branchburg Twp., Somerset County, New Jersey. Courtland was buried at Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Readington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
