1. Cornelius Dougherty-II was born in Hardin County, Kentucky c1804. Cornelius-II was the great Grandson of Cornelius Dougherty who had traveled to Kentucky with Daniel Boone. Cornelius-II's mother and father Christopher and Martha (?nee) Daugherty migrated to Hardin County, Kentucky c1800 and Christopher was supposed to have died there in 1811. Martha lived at least until after 1824 because on 4 September, 1824 she signed as a witness to the marriage of one of her son's Cornelius Dougherty-II and a Nancy Hundly on 4 September, 1824. Also signing the document was John Daugherty a brother of Cornelius-II and his father-in-law Archibald "Arch" Hundly.

Cornelius-II and his wife Nancy nee Hundly Daugherty had Margaret, Thomas, George, Elizabeth and Sarah. Also, probably a girl who is listed in the 1830 census as being under 5 years of age and was probably the oldest child in the family? It is not know just when Cornelius-II and his family moved from Hardin County, Kentucky to Crawford County, Illinois, however, he and his family are listed in the 1830 Census Index in Crawford County, Illinois. It is also registered that he died in Crawford County, Illinois on 13 March, 1859. It is believed that Cornelius R. Daugherty-II was married three times first to a Nancy Hundly, 2nd to a Naomi Correll and third to a Nancy Carter. In total Cornelius R. Daugherty along with his three wives are belived to have had a total of 14 children?
