THE BUZZARD FAMILY, represented by Amos Buzzard and Hezekiah D. Buzzard, of Buzzardstown, was planted in Westmoreland county by Conrad Buzzard. He came from the eastern part of the state and settled at a point on the western edge of Hempfield township, which has since been known as Buzzardstown. His wife was Mary Uplinger, and the following children were born to them: Daniel, mentioned at length hereinafter: Jacob, married Rachel Hart; Leah, who became the wife of Michael Errett; Salome, who married John Kemry; Mary, who was the wife of Adam Whitehead; Conrad, married Catherine Schumacher; George, married Susannah Long; and Peter, died unmarried. Mr. Buzzard, the father, died on the large farm to the cultivation of which he had devoted the best vears of his life.
