Claude Leroy Krumrine, Sr., of Silver Run, MD, died February 18, 2010.
Born February 11, 1920, in Silver Run, he was the son of the late Paul and Gertie Harner Krumrine.
He had been a dairy farmer and had also worked as a shipping clerk at 3M National Advertising, and made deliveries for a feed mill in Hampstead, MD. He raised and raced thoroughbred horses, was an amateur boxer, loved to trap foxes, hunt deer and coons, go dancing, tenpin bowling, horseracing, playing his harmonica, and collecting Indian artifacts, coins, antique bottles, and crockery.
Claude was a member of St. Bartholomew's Lutheran Church in Hanover.
He was the husband of Ruth Cook Krumrine, whom he married January 13, 1998, and Madeline Meckley Krumrine, who died December 20, 1994. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Yvonne Krumrine of Springfield, WV, Wayne C. and Jodie Krumrine of Hanover, and Mark A. and Valerie Krumrine of Littlestown; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna L. and Charles "Teetie" Stephan of Westminster, MD, Brenda J. and Gene Flannery of Littlestown, PA, Beverly A. and John Flannery of Littlestown, PA, Karen M. Abidi of Germantown, MD, Jacqueline C. Lenard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Deanna L. and Carlos Cuevas of Groveland, FL; stepchildren, Diane Andersen, Jane Bankert, Greg Cook, and Phyllis Wilson; son-in-law, Jerry Sherman; daughter-in-law, Belinda Krumrine; sisters, Evelyn Dickinsheets of Hanover and Sarah Bollinger of Westminster; 28 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by children, Sandra L. Sherman, Claude L. Krumrine, Jr. and infant son, David A. Krumrine; and by brothers, John, Melvin, Nevin, and Paul Krumrine; and sisters, Ruthetta Sponseller, Mabel Furhman, and Arlene Worley.
Interment was in St. Bartholomew's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hanover.
