Jackson, niece, Nov. 2007 "When my Uncle Claud Pratt served in WWI, the miliary told the boys they needed a middle name, so he changed his name on the spot from Claud Pratt to Claud Calvin Pratt. Later, his son named one of his sons James Calvin Pratt in honor of his father, only to be told years later by his mother that Uncle Claud just made up the Calvin part during the war."

BORN 9/12/1899 at Tallahena, OK., came to Texas in early childhood and lived in Thorndale for many years. Married Louise Miertschin 3/25/1924. Member Baptist Church and retired business man. SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. C.C. Pratt, Orange; 3 sons, Gene Pratt, Charles Pratt and Bobby Joe Pratt, all of Houston; 2 sisters, Mrs. Allie Jackson of Austin, and Mrs. Audy Albert (twin) of Taylor; brother, Oscar Pratt of Port Arthur; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. SS Death Benefit on #450-26-3186 under Claude Pratt.
