On Nov. 5, 1939, he was received into the fellowship of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, to which he remained faithful until death. During his long illness he was anointed with oil in the name of the Lord which helped him to bear with patience the afflicitions of the final days of his life. He departed this life at his home in Empire Californa on Nov l, 1969 at the age of 77 years 7 months and 8 days.

Besides his loving companion he is survived by 4 sons: 5 daughters: 1 brother 37 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren. Preceding him in death were 2 daughters, Mina Andrews and Elizabeth Gish and l great-granddaughter, Celia Bowman.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. in the Tuolumne meeting house by Elders LLoyd Miller, Joseph Rumble, Howard Oyler and Stanley Filbrun, whose text was 2 Tim 4:6-8 from which he spoke to edification, exhortation and comfort. Hymns selected by the family were 452,456, and 451, In the Wood Colony cemetery, as the body was laid to rest, we sang hymns 499, 455, and 457, after which we were comforted by the words of Bro Harold Miller, who reminded us that he whose lips had long been silenced by the hand of affliction would again be employed in singing eternal praises to the Savior. The service was concluded with prayer.
