Emma Adaline Root, loving wife of Joseph A. Root, was born in Kansas, Oct. 15, 1868 and departed this life Sept. 7, 1941, at her home in Waterford, Calif., at the age of 72 yrs. 10 mos. and 22 days.
On Feb 20, 1887 she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Root. To this union were born 4 sons; Thomas Christian, John James, Isaac William and Fred Earl. One daughter preceded her in death.
In addition to the above sons she is survived by her loving companion, Elder Joseph Root, of the Dunkard Brethren Church, and thirty eight grand-children and fourteen great grand-children. Funeral services conducted in the Sovern Funeral home, Modesto, by C. J. Rumble of the Old German Baptist Church from 1. Cor. 15-49 assisted by the Bro. M. S. Peters, of the Dunkard Brethren. Internment in the Wood Colony cemetery.
