Rev. C. Hager performed marriages of Rebecca's sister and some half-sisters, according to notes from Ruby Driskell interviews with her granmother Eliz. Sayre (#2 wife of Daniel Braucht, son of Rebecca Imboden).

Clarence moved to Jackson Co., IA. in 1859. He was (apparently beginning around 1881) a Methodist pastor at Yankton, Madison, Aberdeen, Vermillion, Rapid City (1912). He was a "Spearfish" (temperance leader), and Trustee of Dakota Wesleyan Univ. Law School, 1875. He had practiced law with brother A. L. Hager in Greenfield, IA while serving as pastor in Mitchell, IA. One report gives his brothers as A. B. Hager of Mitchell, SD and A. L. Hager of Des Moines, IA.
