                Clarence Fleming Of Stellarton Passes Away
  Stellarton- There passed away suddenly Wednesday evening at 5 o'clock in Aberdeen Hospital, Clarence Maxwell Fleming, well-known, highly respected citizen and former town councillor of Stellarton and a resident of River St., for many years. Mr. Fleming , a retired CNR fireman, had been in poor health since his retirement but had only been seriously ill since entering 

the hospital a month ago. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Fleming and was born and lived his life in Stellarton. He was 71. He served two terms as town councillor and was a county constable. He was a member of Keith Lodge 23 AF and AM, where he held the office of Tyler for many years. He also belonged to Fuller Lodge No.5 I.O.D.E., Harmony Chapter OES,25, Sothern Cross Rebekah Lodge, No.3. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Agnes Darroch of Westville; five daughters and two sons; Janet (Mrs. Harvey Cameron), New Glasgow; Isabel (Mrs.Roland Vacheresse), Stellarton; Aileen (Mrs.Hollis Johnson), Sydney; Elda (Mrs.Arthur Giles), Toronto; Mrs. Lois Sample, at home; Bill, Stellarton; and Max at home; two sisters, Minnie(Mrs.Walter Pearson), Florida, and Mrs. Janette Johnson, Stellarton. The funeral will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday from First Presbyterian Church and will be under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge.

  The remains are resting at his late residence, River St.
