On the 1860 census, age 4, with parents in Rush Creek Twp., Fairfield Co., Oh.(p306) In 1880, we see Clara, 24, with husband George Hilliard, 28, a carpenter. They are in Berne Precinct, Burne Twp., Fairfield Co., Oh. They have 2 children in the home. (ED 205, p. 207C, fam #27/27) On the 1900 census, Berne Twp., Fairfield Co., Oh., George, 45, is a fruit grower. Wife Clara, 44, is caring for the home. She declares she has born 4 children, 2 alive at this time. Also in the home is "mother" Amanda Root, 69 and a widow, b. Pa. (ED 4, p. 4B, fam # 77/79) On the 1910 census they continue in Berne Twp. George, 58, is a farmer, fruit farmer. Wife Clara, 54, declares they have been married 36 years, she has born 4 children, 2 alive at this time. Son William is still in the home.
