Many Lebanon county people will be deeply grieved to learn of the death of a former Lebanon county lady, Mrs. Clara Frank Fridinger, widow of Rev. W. W. Fridinger, a United Brethren minister, widely known in this region.
She died at the General Hospital at Lancaster, following an operation for internal troubles.
Mrs. Fridinger with her husband lived in Lebanon about five years. Both were born and raised in Maryland. They came to Lebanon county about twelve years ago when the husband was assigned to the pastorate of the Iona charge. He was later transferred to the Jonestown circuit. He was a resident of Jonestown when he was assigned to New Holland, Lancaster county, but he passed away seven years ago at his Jonestown home shortly after the appointment was made. Mrs. Fridinger then went to Lancaster county to make her home.
She was widely known and was held in high esteem everywhere. Her motherly traits and devotion to her home and family was such as to make her memory cherished for all time by members of the family who survive. She was aged 49 years.
Mrs. Fridinger is survived by the following children: Rev. M. V. Fridinger, Highspire; Rev. Paul E. Fridinger, of Royalton; Mrs. Esther Sweigart, Terre Hill; J. W. Fridinger, Terre Hill. There are five grand children. The surviving brothers and sisters are: Mrs. John Gill, Savage, Md.; Mrs. Alvin Strecig, Baltimore; Mrs. Geo. Boerner, Hampstead, Md.; and Wesley Frank, Beckleyville, Md.; three step children also survive—Willis Fridinger, and Z. M. Fridinger, both of Reading, and Maud, wife of Fred Eichert, of Freidensburg, Pa.
The funeral will take place at 8:45 o’clock Friday morning from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Sweigart, at Terre Hill. There will be services in Trinity U. E. church, Denver, at 10 A.M. and the interment will be in the cemetery of Iona U. B. church, near Lebanon.
The funeral cortege will arrive at the Iona cemetery at 1:30 p.m., when the body can, be viewed by friends.
The services will be in charge of the Rev. Dr. S. C. Enck, of Harrisburg, superintendent of the East Pennsylvania Conference, and the Rev. B. M. Brenneman, of Denver, Lancaster county. [Lebanon Semi-Weekly News, Lebanon County, Pa., Wednesday November 28, 1928, page 1]
