Cicero Addison Died Friday at Fort Smith

Passed away at hospital after operation for gall bladder trouble

Heavener was called to mourn the passing of another fine citizen when Cicero Addison succumbed at the hospital in Fort Smith Friday night, after failing to rally from an operation for gall bladder trouble. He was operated on Wednesday but did not seem to be physically able to withstand the shock and the ravages of the desease.

The body was brought to Heavener Saturday afternoon and funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. R. Hall, pastor of the Christian church, and assisted by Rev. M. L. Sims, Methodist pastor.

Burial was made in the Upper cemetery immediately after the funeral services.

Cicero Addison was born at Toccoa, Georgia, December 18, 1867, and died at Fort Smith, January 18, 1928 , at the age of 60 years, one month, and 5 days.

He had been a resident of Heavener for more than then years, coming here in 1917. Mr. Addison owned the Heavener produce business up until last year, selling to Herman Smith at that time and retiring from active business affairs.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Mrs. Elisabeth Addison; two daugters, Mrs. Harrison Huie, of Seminole, Mrs. J. C. Stringer of Heavener; three sons, Emmett and Fred of Heavener and Grady Addison of Geary, Oklahoma, all of whom were present at the funeral.

He also leaves two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. J L. Redding of Mena, Mrs W. G. Farnsworth, of Waldron, Garrett Addison of Shady Point and Lee Addison of Heavener.

Mr. Addison was a mighty fine man and we have yet to one single ill word spoken of him or his life. To know him was to respect and admire him. He leaves a host of friends who will join with us in extending sympathy to those who are left to mourn his loss.
