Notes About Christopher C. Winfrey According to Marie Winfrey Darling, "C.C.", as he was known, was a physician. He is believed to have died in Missouri during the Civil War. It was also believed Christopher may have been a first cousin of Parthenia and, following their marriage, her family disowned her. As for Christopher's lineage, Kyle K. Williams, noted Winfrey researcher (now deceased) wrote to Margaret Waelde.... "Now on your paternal side, I don't know who your Christopher Winfrey was the son of...but undoubtedly he was named for several Winfreys bearing that name back in Virginia".
