Christopher Sever served in the Revolutionary War in the Massachusetts Line. Christopher Seaver was a Corporal in Capt. Nathan Alden's company, Major Eliphalet Carty's regiment, which marched 3 August 1780 to Rhode Island on an alarm, and was discharged 9 August 1780, with 7 days of service ("Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War," Wright & Potter Printing Co., Boston, 1905, p.959).

He applied for a pension on 8 June 1818 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. In 1820, the soldier was aged 71 and a resident of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and he was living with his son Calvin Sever and had lived with him for four years (Revolutionary War Pension File, S33372).

In the 1790 United States Census, Christopher Sever was a head of household in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
