Christopher DOUGLAS was b. 13feb1811, chr 22mar1811 at Edinburgh (C. Titchett, rootsweb). Christopher Douglas of Chesterhouse, eldest son of Alexander Douglas, W.S., b. 13feb1811 (History of the Society of Writers to her Majesty's Signet, 1890). Will (17 pages) and document (37 pages) of Christopher Douglas, W.S., res 13 Atholl Cresc., Edinburgh, d. 11nov1894, Edinburgh (scotlandspeople). William Ker 4th of Gateshaw (b. 1759) marr Jane Martin, dau of Ellis Martin, in 1806; their son Ellis Martin Ker sold Gateshaw estate to Christopher Douglas of Chesterhouse, W.S., in 1873 (Annals of a Border Club, 1899). The estate of Gateshaw was mentioned in 1917 in the will of Alexander Sholto Douglas, brother of Christopher (scotlandspeople).
