_DCAUSE: Bright's Disease PC Journal 9/28/1867: "Henry Fechtman et al to Christopher A. Borgman all their interest in 206 acres of land which Nicholas Borgman died seized." "Chris Borgman, a farmer living on the Tunnelton Pike five miles from Kingwood, was aroused from his sleep by an infant crying; the search revealed a basinet, containing an infant about four days old, sitting at the front door. The child was taken in and cared for by Borgman." (WV Argus, 4/6/1899) Prior to 1909, Christopher borrowed $25,000 from William G. Brown, Jr., and built six mining houses, two boarding houses, and opened a coal mine, which later prospered as the Borgman Coal Company. References
